Co-immobilization of antioxidant enzymes on titania nanosheets for reduction of oxidative stress in colloid systems

Immobilization of single antioxidant enzyme systems was frequently studied in the past, however, there is a lack reliable reports on co-immobilization such enzymes. Here, an cascade involving superoxide dismutase (SOD) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP) successfully immobilized titania nanosheets (TNS) by sequential adsorption method using poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDADMAC) poly(styrene sulfonate) (PSS) polyelectrolyte building blocks. The development system based colloid approach, which charging aggregation processes were optimized each synthetic step. multilayers built up two different sequences at particle interface, namely, TNS-PDADMAC-SOD-PSS-HRP TNS-HRP-PDADMAC-SOD-PSS. formation layers led to charge reversal carrier saturated PDADMAC PSS stabilized dispersions, particular, their resistance against salt-induced especially excellent. results enzymatic assays revealed that SOD HRP-like activities composites depended location enzymes hybrid material. obtained compounds showed remarkable effect able simultaneously decompose radical anions hydrogen peroxide. are great promise industrial manufacturing during preparation high-quality products without any damages reactive oxygen species.
